How to perform a handstand push-up?

The Handstand Push-Up (HSPU) is a popular gymnastics and strength-building movement in CrossFit® that requires strength, balance, and technique. To perform this movement strictly, position yourself in a handstand against a wall. Place your hands slightly wider than your shoulders and spread your fingers for added stability. For a controlled descent, bend your elbows slowly until your head makes contact with the mat. For proper positioning, your head and hands should form a slight triangle. To rise, push strongly with your shoulders while keeping your core tight, maintaining alignment between your legs and back. You’ve just completed a repetition; repeat the movement in a controlled and fluid manner according to your training program. For a kipping version, you'll use your legs to gain explosiveness on the way up.

Are you a beginner? For a scaled version, you can place an abmat on the mat at your head level to increase height and reduce the range of motion. To intensify the movement, you can conversely place plates under your hands for a greater range of motion.
