Portable AirBadminton & mini tennis net that can be set up on any flat surface (lawn, concrete, etc.). The net is 6m long (ideal for AirBadminton and classic badminton double play). Easy to assemble and disassemble. The sturdy 19mm-diameter steel posts are height-adjustable, depending on whether you're using it for AirBadminton (1.55m) or mini tennis (0.76m). AirBadminton is a new concept developed by the Badminton World Federation (BWF) to enable badminton to be played outdoors on a safe, flat surface of concrete, grass or sand. The aim is to make badminton accessible to all, whatever their age or level, by developing its practice in parks, gardens, streets, playgrounds, beaches... AirBadminton is an exciting, innovative and dynamic version of badminton that also aims to attract a new audience.
This new outdoor sport is played with a special shuttlecock, the AirShuttle, which is heavier, more stable and offers wind resistance of up to 12km/h, providing players with a particularly positive experience.
The dimensions of the AirBadminton playing field are also designed and adapted for outdoor play to encourage exchanges. The court is 16m long and 6m wide (5m for singles), with a 2m dead zone on either side of the net, where the shuttlecock cannot touch the ground and the player cannot enter to hit the AirShuttle. The serve is made from anywhere on the court, behind a marker located 3m from the net.
AirBadminton is played in singles, doubles and even triples! Standard badminton rules apply to AirBadminton, with the exception of triple play. In this case, each team of 3 players must include at least one woman. A player may not perform 2 consecutive touches. This rule encourages movement and strategy. It's by far the most attractive form of AirBadminton!
