Bourne is a model born in 2018 from the fusion between the Cañon (diamond shape created in 2003) and the Avant (teardrop shape created in 2009). The result is a teardrop-shaped racket designed for players looking for power in their game without giving up control.
One of the most important new features of this model is RADIO technology, which represents a revolution in the manufacture, strength and performance of paddle-tennis rackets. With this technology, we've succeeded in producing the first paddle to come out of its own mould.
This is possible thanks to 2 factors: firstly, the development of a new mold which includes the relief of the holes towards the outside; and secondly, the materials are pre-drilled and cut before being inserted. The sum of these factors means that the racket comes out with the holes already made and with a smooth, rounded radius.
The technical result is an enormous increase in core strength and a 50% reduction in the use of cloth.
Airflow technology was developed in the Radio blades of the 2022 collection, now it has been innovated with an innovative core construction for the new AIRFLOW 2023, including the system of elongated and circular holes used in the Radio. This new construction, according to all the tests carried out with amateur players and PRO, transforms the racket into an excellent tool for mid- to high-level amateurs, and really helps them get more power in all their shots.
This professional-level paddle tennis racket features the Prisma frame, with which we've managed to reduce point frame contact with walls and surfaces by 90%, as well as air resistance by 10%. All this translates into improved maneuverability and greater acceleration on shots.
On the other hand, we have reinforced its most fragile point (the head) with an adhesive protector that adapts perfectly to its shape, the Prisma protector. This covers not only the frame, but also its junction with the plane of the blade.
The autres novelties in the 2023 collection will be the rough texture on the plane called Slice, which has been designed and developed with a series of curved lines that make the ball's surface adhere more closely to them. In these blades, the roughness is more perceptible than in any of the blades in the Summum 2022 range.
As its nom indicates, the Bourne Summum Prisma radio incorporates Summum technology in its construction, which is based on the sum of several factors:
A grip that's longer than usual, to offer the player a more comfortable and professional grip, and also to facilitate the grip for those who use both hands on backhand shots.
A 1 cm longer striking surface.
And Diffuser Wings technology at its heart, with an aerodynamically improved diffuser that offers greater maneuverability and precision.
And last but not least, Handlesafety technology, a new safety system for the handle. Normally, all blades have a centered exit hole for the placement of the rope, which is attached to the handle's structure by means of a pin, rivets, nails, etc. However, with this system, the rope is not attached to the handle. However, with this system, the rope passes through both walls of the grip and exits on either side of the ferrule, offering 100% safety and comfort in the grip.
